Now that we’re enjoying warm summer evenings, it’s lovely being out in the garden quite late. I love having candles outside so decided to stamp a vase to hold a large candle.
Stamp (Hero Arts) – Antique Engravings
Of course when I was doing this I didn’t take into account having to photograph it! I had so many problems with reflections, trying to capture the sparkle of glitter and also because the butterflies are stamped all the way around the vase, in the photos it looks like some of the images overlap – aagh! The photos aren’t great but I gave up on getting good ones!
Using white StazOn, I stamped three different sized butterflies from the Antique Engraving set on the vase. We have ivy on parts of the garden walls so there is always a plentiful supply to make ivy rings. So I white embossed a number of butterflies on vellum, added diamond stickles, gems and attached them to the ivy ring.
I think your photographs are lovely, Heather! What a beautiful candle holder you made! You always have the best ideas! How difficult was it to stamp the butterflies on a curved surface like this?
ReplyDeleteHeather, I can't even explain how much I love this! It is gorgeous! Your photographs look wonderful! The first one with your flowers in the background is so pretty! I love that you added vellum butterflies to the ivy ring too! Your creativity amazes me!
ReplyDeleteI love this project =It is just perfect and a great use of your stamps
ReplyDeleteOh my goodnes Heather! This is absolutely gorgeous. You have such a way with embossing velum and using butterflies. I actually did a post on my own blog and made a card with embossed velum, and you were my muse. I loved what you shared in our HA group and I just had to give it a try. Your such an inspiration to our group and so gald that you are here in the Paper Crafting World. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteLooks stunning Heather. I love how it turned out and your photographs look good. Really like the Ivy ring and the vellum butterflies.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for the lovely comments, I really appreciate them!
ReplyDeleteLin, it wasn’t hard at all stamping on the curved surface. Because the StazOn is so tacky the images stuck quite easily to the glass and didn’t slide around like when I’ve tried stamping on acetate. I had a couple of splodges at the start when I was getting the hang of it but they were easy to wipe off.
Wow Heather this is absolutely stunning, I love your vase, I may case this idea it would make a beautiful gift for a friend who loves butterflies!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
