I love making fabric brooches and as I have been making quite a few recently decided to make one as an embellishment for this card.
I made the flower brooch using various size circles of a couple of different fabrics and some gems.
For the background I stamped some kraft card with white ink. The ink looked very bubbly on the stamp (don’t know if it’s going off or something!) but I liked the textured look it gave when I stamped it, so just left it as it was. I used some of my scraps for the scallop piece. The sentiment is from a gorgeous Christmas set (thanks again Linda!) and I just didn't ink the Christmassy part of it.
I’m submitting this card into the DIY Embellishments Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, the Lily Pad Cards Flower Challenge and the current Hero Arts Challenge.
Stamps (Hero Arts) – Classic Fabric Design & Very Merry Christmas (sentiment)
We have had the most glorious weather this weekend and so have spent more time in the garden then my stampy space. Hope the weather is good wherever you are!

Flower Pot Treat Containers
I wanted to make some treat holders and ended up making these little flower pot treat containers.
Stamps (Hero Arts) - Blossom Art, Envelope Pattern, Be Happy and Woodland Creatures
To make the flower pots I cut strips of card (thanks again Trinh!) 6 x 2 3/4 and scored them at 1/2, 2 1/2, 3 1/2 and 5 1/2.
I marked dots 1/2 inch in from the sides and added lines (see photo below)
Then I cut out the excess pieces...
...and was left with a flower pot shape.
Then I added the grass to the outside of the pots and stuck down the rims of the pots.
I put little treats - conversation hearts (thanks again Trinh!) wrapped in organza in the containers and adhered the top edges of the pots together. I might add little packets of seeds if I make these again.
The stems were made by wrapping baker's twine (thanks again Linda!) around cocktail sticks and adding leaves from some May Arts ribbon. The flowers were white embossed and distress inks (barn door, spiced marmalade and mustard seed) applied. I just added some stickles for sparkle and little ladybirds to each pot.
I’m submitting these into to the Household Items Challenge in the Moxie Fab World (used cocktail sticks for the stems), the Paper Scraps Challenge in the Moxie Fab World (used lots of scraps to make these) and the current Hero Arts Challenge.

Pink, Pink and More Pink.
In my scrap heap, I had a flower already embossed, coloured and cut out which was leftover from this card. So I used it for a quick, girly card I wanted to make.
Stamps (Hero Arts) - Large Flower Background & Birthday Messages
I stamped the Large Flower Background in pink on pink card and used the same ink for the sentiment. The flower had been coloured with distress inks (worn lipstick and shabby shutters) and I just added a bow and heart gem. I bought the picot edge circles Nestabilites fairly recently and I think I’ll end up using them a lot. The gems danced all around in different positions on the card until I settled on where they are now and I’m still not sure if I like where I put them - lol I think that’s what took most time on the card!

Hugs and Kisses on St Patrick's Day
Well since it’s St Patrick’s Day and we haven't exactly had parade weather today here in Ireland, with more showers than sunny spells, I thought I’d grab some inky time and make a St Patrick’s Day card.
Stamps (Hero Arts) - Four Hearts and Celebrate Everyday
To make the shamrock, I white embossed the hearts and applied shabby shutters and tumbled glass distress ink. Since St Patrick is reputed to have explained the Holy Trinity by using a shamrock, I thought I’d add a little chiffon ribbon cross to the card by layering two bows. I topped this with a gem blossom (thanks again, Linda!) and single gem. I'm submitting this card into the Simon Says Stamp A Bit o' Green Challenge and the Pile It On #11 Challenge - St. Patrick's Day and/or Shades of Green.
Hope you're having a wonderful St Patrick's Day and if you celebrate it wherever you are I’d love to hear what you get up to! I'll just finish up with some photos of my favourite places in Ireland.
