Triangular Thanks

I thought I'd play along again with the Trendy Triangle Challenge over at Moxie Fab World. This time, as well as using triangles on my card, I decided to make a triangular card.

Stamps (Hero Arts) - Friendly Flags, Lattice Background and Antique Brocade

For the orange and darker green triangles, I applied Hero Arts tide pool and orange soda shadow inks to white card and stamped and/or embossed images. I used pool layer paper for the lighter green triangles. After cutting out the triangles, I adhered them to white card and did some machine stitching before adding the back of the card. As I've used inks from the Stamp Your Story catalogue, I'm also submitting this card into the current Hero Arts Challenge. I was inspired by the colours and mix of patterns on this gorgeous card by Kelly Rasmussen.

Hope you're having a great weekend:) Our National Heritage Week starts today so we're hoping to fit in as many fun events as possible over the next seven days and are trying not to think too much about the imminent return to school!

Sympathy Card

This is the first time I've made a sympathy card as it’s more customary here to have a mass said for the deceased person and use a mass card.

I love making cards but I’m sure this must be the hardest kind to make especially when you are thinking about the person who has passed away and their family. So I decided to try to make one now.

Stamps used (Hero Arts):- Happy Wishes & Antique Brocade.

For the background I embossed the Antique Brocade stamp in black. I printed off the verse and stamped beside it using the Happy Wishes stamp. To finish I just added some green gems and butterflies. It's hard to tell from the photo but all the panels and butterflies are raised with foam pads.

I used the colour combination from the Play Date Cafe Challenge #40 and am also submitting the card into the Card Style Classy and Elegant Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

An apple a day...

This is a card that I made for a friend who recently hurt her foot. I clear embossed the black background (Raindrop Background) and apples (Antique Brocade). The apples are paperpieced and to finish I just added some white dots to them. The sentiment is in Jokerman font in Word.

I've positioned my little prop (with moustache from Mon’s template in the photo of the inside of the card. He's wearing another little hat I made for the Big Knit charity fundraiser which I mentioned here.

I thought I'd submit this card into the Card Style Fun and Cute Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

I'm off to bake some brownies to go with the card. Hope you all have a great weekend!
