Welcome to The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog Hop. Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker loves to colour and she is hosting her fifth 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE. The premise of the challenge is to colour something everyday even if it’s for just five minutes. It doesn’t matter what you colour or what medium you use. It's such a fun challenge and a brilliant way to make sure that you take a relaxing break for yourself during the day.
Even if you can't get to colour every day you can join in at any time while the challenge is on. You will find that Kathy encourages you along the way to stretch your creativity a little bit more and to feel successful with your colouring. You will learn so much from Kathy and pick up lots of tips and techniques. More details on the challenge can be found in Kathy's blog post here and in Kathy's video here.
I first got to know Kathy through the Hero Arts group on Flickr and from the start she has amazed me with her sheer creativity and fabulous colouring skills. Today Kathy has assembled a blog hop to give your creativity a jump start. Along the hop you'll meet Hero Arts artists, friends and Hostesses.
You should have arrived here from the blog of my very talented friend Linda - can't wait to see what she has coloured and created! A full list of all the blogs on the hop can be found here on Kathy's blog. At the end of the hop you will find a fantastic GIVEAWAY from my favourite company Hero Arts - two shopping sprees of $25.00 each! Winners will be randomly picked from the blog comments of the blog hop - good luck! I have comment moderator switched on so please don't worry if your comment doesn't appear immediately.
Often when I stamp an image for a card I stamp off a few extras for the future in case I need to make a card in a hurry. I have a drawer full of these stamped images ready to go. For when I'm out and about I also keep some stamped images in one container and in another container I have images that I've fully cut out and are ready to colour along with others that have just been coloured. It makes it easy to grab some things when I have the opportunity to cut out or colour. Often when I'm sitting in my car waiting for my kids to come out of school I'll be cutting out and/or colouring. It's amazing how much you can get done when you're just waiting around!
From the time I got Hero Arts Spice Market Large Petal Background I've had great fun colouring it and have used it again and again on cards. Below is a card I posted a while ago which shows what the full image looks like on a kraft base and coloured with pencils.
Stamps - Spice Market Large Petal Background & Type (Hero Arts)
This time I wanted a brighter look so stamped part of the image on a scrap of white card and coloured with Promarkers. After cutting out the piece I adhered it to the top of the card. The sentiment was die cut three times and layered.
Stamp - Spice Market Large Petal Background (Hero Arts)
Dies - Thanks Stamp & Cut (Hero Arts)
Well after making that card it seems like I was bitten by the colouring bug and went on to stamp the image again using up more card scraps.
I went with cool blues and greens for the first card
Stamps - Spice Market Large Petal Background & It's Your Day (Hero Arts)
Die - Pierced Rectange Frames (My Favorite Things)
and then used a mix of warm colours for the second.
Stamps - Spice Market Large Petal Background & It's Your Day (Hero Arts)
Die - Pierced Rectange Frames (My Favorite Things)
I have to say I really enjoyed taking some time to lose myself completely in colouring and would encourage you to do the same and join in on Kathy's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge if you haven't already done so.
Now it's time to pop over to the next stop on the hop where you'll be visiting the very creative Cheiron. Enjoy the rest of the hop and I'm looking forward to going hopping too!

Oh Heather, I don't know where to start????
Your coloring is amazing as are your cards. I have images stamped off and colored or ready to color as well. A great way to pass a little time as you wait. When I go to visit my parents, I take my coloring as my 87 y/o mother and I BOTH color while we visit. LOL

Beautiful coloring! I received some of the popular coloring books for Christmas, but have been a bit intimated to get started on them. Your contribution to this blog hop may just help me to get past that. Thanks for sharing!
Love how you framed the design
with the black.
That is a fantastic stamp.

Whoa! That is some awesome coloring. Thanks for sharing.
That's a great idea. Though, would it be easier to color them if they haven't been cut out yet? i'm wondering how you color the little pieces!
That's such a great idea, I'm not that organized. I tend to spend my waiting time reading. It's so nice to have the kindle app on my phone, I use it more for reading then actually calling. I love the Look of the spice market stamp, reminds me of vintage Indian rugs. So pretty and fun to color.
Beautiful cards and great background stamp!
Boy that is a lot of coloring. Your cards are lovely. I prefer the really bright and bold colors so your cards are right up my alley. Thanks for sharing.

Great cards. Like the cool colors framed in black is perfect. I am really just getting into stamping and coloring. Most of what I've done is embossing sentiments and using Hero Arts layering stamps. Thank you for sharing and being part of this giveaway
Pretty colors.
Love both the warm and the cool color combos for the image. The simple layout and design of your card nicely highlight them.
I'm not familiar with pro markers. I love the color intensity. Thanks.

Oh WOW !! Fantastic job of coloring and blending. The Thank card is so soft and beautiful. Great job and thanks for sharing and giving me the bug to try this out :)
These cards are fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration!
Beautiful cards
I'm envious of that bin full of stamped images and think it's a fantastic idea. When my inspiration has sneaked away, I can just grab something to color and perhaps it will come back. Going to try this. Your cards are gorgeous and so beautifully colored!
It's so fun to see how someone uses their stamps and how many different ideas to use for just one stamp. Love all of these cards!
So pretty! I have many Hero Arts products and love that they support Charities.
Lovely cards!!! Beautiful coloring!!!
Gorgeous colouring. Love Promarkers. Melanie x
I am trying hard to use those small bits of time to work on projects. Fifteen minutes is just as good as a whole hour if you manage your time right! I think Hero Arts is a great company and I love their flowers!
beautifully colored Heather - that stamp reminds me of a page from a coloring book
This has been a favorite stamp of mine but I have been afraid to use it because I was limited in how I would use it. Not anymore. I especially love the card where you cut out a portion and added it just to the top of a card. Plus, it looks like it is "coloring book" fun to color!
They are gorgeous. Wish I had a real one on my floor!
Thank you for sharing this stamp, I have been looking for something like this for sometime. I had one similar to this but thanks to mother nature it hopefully landed in a crafter's yard after the tornado took everything away. Kathy heard about this and was such a dear and sent me a box of items to get me started and to have a get away while the contractor's cleared and rebuilt everything. I will always be grateful to her. It's so wonderful to see all of the wonderful cards that ya'll put together.
Spectacular coloring. I love how you framed the colored panels. Very effective!
Great idea to have those stamped and cutout images ready ahead of time like that. Well done!
Such an amazing idea to have stamped and colored images on hand! I am sometimes in a rush to make a card and this is a perfect idea for that. Thank you for sharing!!
Beautiful cards, love the colours you selected. Great job!
Your coloring is so beautiful.
You have definitely intrigued me with that stamp! I love your use of color and the way you choose to crop your images! Thanks for sharing.
My goodness!!! Wow! The details that you've colored are just awesome! The color combinations you've used are so pretty! I love all of your beautiful cards!
Your colouring is AMAZING! What a gorgeous stamp! Thanks for the tips on how to use "waiting time" - I started to put a kit together but need to add some things to it.
WOW~each card looks like a piece of art!
The stamp is great but your coloring is beautiful!
Wow awesome cards. Your coloring is amazing.
That stamp, and coloring, just, go together!
There's so much to comment on, but for sake of brevity, I will just say, amazing coloring. Thanks for all the inspiration.

like the different looks you got with the same stamp
What a stunning stamp! Your cards with it are all so different too! Gorgeous! I like having things to colour ready also. I guess that's why people buy colouring books. Can't find one that works with Copics yet.
Wonderful coloring! Such a cool stamp! I really like the cards you made with it.

Lovely!
Beautiful, intricate and cheerful. Thanks for the amazing cards. Love your color choices in every one of the cards.
Love the bright versions! And I like the slightly off-centered positioning. I just got the stamp, and was feeling like I had to center it perfectly. Love these!
Wow, that Spice Market background is so beautiful when you've colored it! I love seeing that whole basket of stamped images to color and use on cards too...I need to do that!
Oh my, that is truly a gorgeous stamp! Perfect for coloring!
Great stamp, great colors!!
Wow-what an awesome image!
I'm not sure I would try to tackle coloring
this image, though. I'm afraid it might take
me a week to finish!
Beautiful cards!!!
Love how you used portions of the stamp to create some of your cards. Coloring is def. addictive and so much fun!
You are one organized mom having things at the ready to cut and color while you wait. I must admit, Heather, all of your Spice Market colored cards are simply stunning. WOWZERS!
Don't know which I love more, that gorgeous Spice Market stamp, or the bins full of stamped images to keep on hand! This just makes me happy in every way!
WOW! Your cards are so beautiful. I wish I had the patience to color in those stamps. I love how the black frames sets off all the colors.
I often think to stamp off extras, though I never think to stamp on kraft! Great idea, especially for a pattern stamp like this!!! Love it! I struggle in that I color with many mediums... and I prefer to color with Zigs on Bristol, watercolor on wc paper, and then you need ink and paper friendly to alcohol markers if you plan on using them. Makes it hard to stamp off extras unless you know how you're going to want to color them later, and I don't always want to stamp them off in 2 different inks on 3 different papers. I'm guessing you always use Neenah or similar anticipating using your Promarkers? You could still use that paper for pencils too, just not the other media.
Hero Arts really scored big with that Spice Market Flower stamp.
Glad you were able to participate in this blog hop.
So very striking! Your coloring is amazing.
Such gorgeous crisp vibrant colors on these! Too hard to pick a fave. Your coloring is awesome!
Those are certainly some spicy cards. Beautiful, vibrant colors.
i have to start putting together some on the go coloring. love it!
I might have to get that stamp now. So striking.
Wow! You have done a GREAT job on these cards. I think you must have a lot of patience. :)

Great cards! This is a fun stamp and I love how brightly you colored it!
Blown away at your cards, and the time you spent coloring! That would have taken me months to finish. Beautiful job!
Wow, Heather! That's one fabulous stamp and incredible colouring projects. I particularly like the warm coloured frame image on your last card. I love your idea of having stamped images on hand to colour whenever you get the opportunity.
Wowzers! Totally love your choice in the bright bold colors- they look fabulous on kraft, and all the different variations of cards with just one background stamp is awesome!
What beautiful cards and coloring and what a pretty stamp! Love it!
I also liked your idea about the stamped images, I think that would suit me fine as I often think I don't have the time...
Thank you Heather for sharing your beautiful cards. I purchased the Hero Arts stamp over a month ago but haven't had the opportunity to use it. I'm about to head overseas and plan to take my journal and some markers with me. Your cards have now given me the inspiration to use the stamp and colour them in on the go. Love them. Have a great day and happy colouring.

Amazing coloring, Heather! The stamp looks like one of those adult coloring book pages- all the rage now. I too keep extra stamped images and die cuts and even embossings on hand to put together a quick card. Or five. Lol. Thanks so much for sharing with us AND for participating in this great hop and challenge and giveaway.

Wowzers Heather! These are gorgeous! It's been fun hopping with you! :)

I love this mosaic looking stamp! There are so many options! Your post really makes me want to color!
Wow these are incredible, I love how you coloured them!
These kinds of cards remind me of the orient. They are rich and spicy looking. Love them all! Thank you.
Lovely colors.. Stunning image...reminds me of stained glass in cathedrals. Beautiful!
I really need that spice market stamp Beautiful. Putting it in my wish list
Your cards involved a lot of detailed coloring and that pairing of colors isn't as easy as most people think. However you did a beautiful job! I love the bright colored cards, they remind me handmade tapestries. I love stamping the same image several times and coloring, cutting them out and then layering. Some find it tedious but I usually find it worth the extra effort. Your cards show that extra effort as they are truly beautiful!!
Such detail! Love the color combinations!
you make me want that stamp!
What beautiful cards - your coloring takes things to another level for sure! Thanks so much!!
yaay so love to see you on Blog hop#

Monika
This stamp is gorgeous. Love the colors.
That's a great stamp and your coloring really makes it rock.
Wow, I love that spice market stamp! You've made it look so great and vivid with your coloring!
These are beautiful and thanks for the tip on taking coloring materials on the road.
Wow!! Those cards are so beautiful and vibrant! I just love how you showed that you don't always have to use the entire image on a card to make a beautiful impression! Thanks for the inspiration!
Coloring is fun, but cutting the images out can also be soothing sometimes. I don't know if I would quite call it a stress reliever haha, but for times like you described (in the car waiting for the kids), it is definitely better than the alternative of just being bored! (I imagine you are rocking out to something good on the radio as you cut of course). Thanks for the chance to win!
What gorgeous backgrounds, Heather! I love how many different card designs you can get out of it. It’s been a pleasure hopping with you to celebrate Hero Arts and Kathy’s 30 Day Colouring Challenge!
I like that stamp.
Fabulous cards! I really love this stamp so thanks for the inspiration for new ways to use the stamp. I especially love the design on the Kraft paper!
Love the stamped image and bright color. Your cards are Beautiful
Amazing card design and coloring! And I love the collection of cut out images you have too. So fun to hop along with you! Hugs :)
This is my all time favorite HA background and I just love all the different looks you provided. The coloring is amazing!!!
What a lovely stamp. I can't decide if I like the warm colors or cool colors better. They are both so pretty.
I'm on a self-imposed buying hiatus, but I can feel a relapse coming on. What a gorgeously detailed versatile stamp. You showed it off to its full potential. I'm thinking the only way I won't relapse is if it's out of stock, which I'm suspecting it will be after your cards hit the Internet. ABSOLUTELY stunning!
I have this stamp on my wish list and now I think it just moved to the "cart." What a gorgeous card.
Just gorgeous "WOW" cards Heather. I love that stamp. Great idea with coloring your images ahead of time to have on hand. I am gonna do that!
Oh my gosh! You just totally did 2 things that I've done and one that I just did! Wow, great minds think alike, right? LOL
I'm trying to get my printer to work correctly. I'm not sure if it's my printer or Adobe Acrobat but when I printed out 3 images for size purposes, they all came out the same size! That's impossible of course and I have to find out what the problem is. In the meantime, I have 3 images on card stock that are the same. I've colored 2 of them and the colors I used make them both different even though they are the same image, like you did with your pretty cards, one being shades of orange and red and my favorite color yellow and one is shades of green and blue. They both look like a page from one of my coloring books. They are amazing!
The other thing you did is something I never thought of for me but you seem to do it all the time. My niece loves to do arts and crafts and she loves to stamp. She is a ballerina with the Orlando Ballet so she doesn't get to stamp much and Auntie Gail has all the stamps. For Christmas last year I got out all my great Christmas stamps and stamped pages of card stock so she could make out her Christmas cards for this year. She was so excited! I also got 2 coupons from Crayola for money off of anything Crayola so I bought her a box of 64 colored pencils. Now she can do what we do but she doesn't have to have all those stamps. Her last apartment was so small she only had one closet! Where would she put a lot of stamps?
Thank you for showing us your beautiful cards and for showing me that great minds think alike! I'm going to stamp some images and cut them out for when I need a quick card too!
OMG...beautiful designs, such patient coloring...I'd never make it! But it is absolutely delightful to look at.
Wow! Gorgeous cards! Love that stamp and your coloring is amazing!
OMG this are super amazing inspirations.... Thanks so much :) Hugs Ute
Beautiful cards, love the bright colors. I can't believe how many ways you created using that one stamp!
Fantastic cards Heather. That petal background image is amazing. Perfect for coloring. :) Can I have the container full of those sweet colored images. :)
Those are simply stunning!
Love all your variations!
OMG those mandalas are gorgeous. I also really like your idea of stamping extra images for future cards.
I never thought to have my images stamped and then cut them out while I am waiting. I usually stamp, color then cut. I think I like your idea better. I LOVE that petal background and how you can use this in so many ways!! Amazing creations.
Amazing the different looks you can get from the same stamp - all gorgeous!!!
Love your coloring on your cards.
Gorgeous!
Such beautiful intricate designs
What lovely ways to use this great stamp! Thanks for sharing your talent!!
OH WOW...beautiful cards!! That is an awesome large stamp for coloring! I love the colors you used also...thanks for showing which markers..I also have Promarkers & those colors look awesome together! I keep wanting to stamp & color extras like you mentioned in the start of your post...but haven't done so yet...gotta do it!!
That stamp is gorgeous and so is your coloring. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous cards! I especially like the ones framed in black; the color seems more vibrant in contrast.
